The Classic Muscle Car Rides Again: 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Makes Comeback with 815 HP Engine
Classic car enthusiasts were thrilled when Ford announced its partnership with Classic Restorations to create new continuation models of the 1969-1970 Mustang Boss 302, 1969-1970 Mustang Boss 429, and 1969-1970 Mustang Mach 1. Now, after six months of anticipation, the first brand-new 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 in 50 years has made its grand debut at the 2018 SEMA show.
Restored to factory condition by Classic Restorations on an original 1969 Mustang body, the Boss 429 boasts a striking exterior that’s identical to the original. However, the 7.0-liter V8E engine has been replaced with a custom-built 8.4-liter V8 with modern EFI fueling system, upgraded valve train, and ECU, generating an incredible 815 horsepower. This mighty engine is paired with a Tremec manual transmission with a Centerforce DYAD twin-disc clutch and flywheel.
To ensure stability at high speeds, the Classic Restorations team has installed a 4-link rear suspension, front tubular upper and lower control arms, adjustable coilovers, and oversized sway bars. Stainless steel MagnaFlow performance mufflers and Worx long tube headers allow the engine to breathe while producing an aggressive roar. The comeback of this classic muscle car is sure to turn heads on the road.
